Which Way Nigeria

While taking a walk under the scorching sun, I had a deep thought about the happenings in my country.
We have seemingly watched things going from bad to worse and even worst.

Taking an in-depth look at the activities of this country is saddening, and heartbreaking.

People are losing their beauties, their smiles, sweat and pride easily. These days, all you see is pain and frustration in people's eyes, sadness behind the fake smile.

I asked myself when will these sufferings end?, when can we proudly say we have competent and credible leaders, "which way Nigeria"

These days we sleep and wake in darkness, and even the privatization of the power sector can't provide us solutions.

Now we have to get alternative generating set, incase one messes up, our leaders have made sure we have no fuel to power it.

We are Africa's largest oil exporter and yet her citizen  enjoy no benefit in towering position. Our government can't revive our comatose Refineries, they are busy exchanging  blames here and there with the independent oil marketers.

Now we are left with the option of buying low quality fuel from black market for double or triple cost against the official pump price

Imagine driving to the station and having to spend all day there to get fuel because of the long unending  queue, and when it gets to your turn, they tell you "No fuel", that's what I call bad luck.

I guess soon, with the help of the black market agents,  we will be getting fuel everywhere, streets, roadsides, and maybe supermarts (no pun intended). 

Which way Nigeria? 

With 70% of its citizen living below a dollar per day. 

These days all savings goes for fuel consumption. Having to buy fuel with your child's school fees and after all the troubles, the long-unending traffic to your house drains the fuel, how pathetic!

I guess we just have to brace up for more hard times, because the situation doesn't seem to be abating, 

Still no security for lives and properties, no qualitative education for our children, no affordable health scheme, no jobs and to crown it up, our public health workers are threatening to go on strike!

A lot need to be put in place to make this country work, Which way Nigeria?
